At westwindgifts.ca We ship Worldwide!
We are a small family owned and operated business. We do the best we can to keep shipping costs down for you - and discount shipping charges. We charge shipping based on the first item in your cart (others ship at no cost). While we'd like to offer free shipping on all orders, small businesses like ours can't absorb that cost, nor do we wish to hide shipping costs by raising the cost of our products. Instead, we choose honesty, integrity, and fair pricing of our wares. We don't gouge our customers for our products. That's how we save you money. See below for how we calculate shipping and discounts.
Damage?
Do not return damaged items to us without first contacting us about the damage. Email us to info@westwindgifts.ca
We go above and beyond to inspect and ensure your order is fully intact and packed well before it leaves our hands. If damage to your package occurs en-route to you, there is a process that needs to take place to claim insurance from the carrier for that package. The claim requires some cooperation from you, the customer. We cannot refund you for the damaged item until the claim is processed, so please understand we will require photos and proof of the damage, and in many cases you will need to respond to the carrier as part of this process. The claim process is necessary to ensure we're all reimbursed for the damage that was not the fault of you, or us. Many thanks for your understanding.
Porch Pirates
Please note that packages that have been stolen from porches are not often
covered by insurance. Always have a secure place for your package to be
left by the courier, or have someone available to physically receive it
when it is delivered.
Please note that carriers do not cover claims for missing packages that are proven delivered to your address. We can not be held responsible for packages stolen off your porch once it has been successfully delivered. That said, please contact us and we will try our best by filing a claim with the carrier on your behalf in hopes of a successful claim. You should also file a file a stolen property report with your local Police.

package to be held at depot if your not home, or if you'd prefer to have
it left at your door.

All return items must be sent back prepaid. If there was no error made on our part and you'd like to return an item simply due to preference, shipping is not refunded. If an error was made on our part, please let us know by email and attach photos of the product issue. Insurance and tracking are not required, but lost packages en-route to us will not be refunded, so please consider insurance and tracking. If you received discounted shipping at checkout, your return will be less the discount originally given or the cost of actual shipping, whichever is more. Items must be shipped back to us within 14 days of receiving them. Items must be re-sellable to qualify as a return. No refunds/credits on damaged/used items.
A processing fee may be charged to cover processing costs on returns and/or cancellations.

If you use hotmail, outlook, msn or other microsoft email please check your junk folder. They are particularly bad for putting good messages in spam.

Best Rate Shipping: Available in Canada/USA - A budget shipping method in which we use any of our carriers including Postal Services, UPS, Purolator, Canpar and FedEx. If you choose this method, make sure your address is ready for both mail and courier delivery. This method does not always (but usually) include tracking but always includes insurance. Please allow up to 3 business days for Best Rate orders to ship, although they almost always ship sooner. Priority is given to rush orders.
How We Ship to Your Destination:
CANADA: Orders are billed based on a small package to your location - There is no additional charge for additional items! You pay the same shipping on a small order that you would a large order. Shipping starts at $13-$29 depending on where you are. Fully Insured. Tracking guaranteed except on Best Rate orders. Rush shipping available.
Discounted and Free Shipping
Canada/USA:
West Wind Gifts has a Shipping Discount program where you can earn Discounted or Free Shipping, and you'll never pay more to add more to your cart!
With each CAD$100 (USD$75*) you spend, you'll get a CAD$10 (USD$7.50*) Shipping Credit towards regular Best Rate Shipping or a CAD$8 (USD$6*) Shipping Credit towards Rush Shipping.
Canada:
Shipping discounts are at CAD$100, $200 and $300 (capped at CAD$30 on regular, CAD$24 on rush)
USA:
Shipping discounts are at USD$75*, USD$150* (capped at USD$15* on regular, USD$12* on rush)

USA: There is no additional charge for additional items! We accept USD$ as well as CAD$ which you can change by clicking the flag at the top right of the page. All orders Insured. Tracking included on all but Best Rate orders (some Best Rate orders will not include tracking). For US Protectorates, only Postal Orders are flat rate (courier is based on cost).
For our USA customers - Additional fees may be owing for tariffs upon entry into the USA. These fees, if applicable, are payable to the US Government on entry. We are not in control of these fees. In addition, carriers may charge a fee to you to collect these fees. As of this time of writing, fees are targeting items made in China or Hong Kong, but it is likely other items to be subject to these fees, particularly after August 29th, 2025 when the de minumus exemption ends.
We have simplified our shipping. We have removed carriers that charge high clearance costs, such as UPS Standard. We are now primarily shipping with Canada Post and Air Couriers like UPS 3-day, Expedited, Express to avoid carrier clearance costs. Best Rate shipping has been adjusted to exclude ground private carriers, keeping the fee lower or exempt, so that every option provided is a good option. UPS Standard is now available only on special request.
INTERNATIONAL: Orders are based on actual size/dimensions once packed.
You'll be presented a shipping deposit of CAD$40 - We'll ship it with
an economy air shipping method. This could be by Canada Post or by
Courier depending on your location. This may or may not have tracking,
and a max CAD$100 insurance by default. If you want any of these add-on
options, please specify in your order notes:
- Ship by Postal Mail (lower customs charges to some countries)

If shipping is within the deposit paid, we'll ship your order and
refund the difference. If it is more we'll let you know your shipping
options
If shipping exceeds
the deposit, or you have requested a quote, we will email you a
customized quote just for you. We'll adjust your shipping amount (up or
down) depending on the shipping method you choose, refunding any
overpayments. Air shipping is usually 2-4 weeks. Small orders, like jewellery, will usually result in a partial refund of your shipping deposit. If
you're looking for fast - We still also offer UPS, DHL, Aramex and
Canada Post Services. Insurance and Tracking vary by service.

Per Item Shipping Charges
Although there are not many, there are a few items that have a set shipping charge when shipping to the USA. These are marked in the items themselves.
If Something Goes Wrong:
Please
contact us for any issues with delivery such as a lost package, damage,
or delivery delays. Do not dispose of any packaging if your item is
damaged. It is important you do not glue or try to fix damaged items
before the claim is complete.
Items that show delivered but have not arrived - Let us know right away and we'll start an investigation.
Please note that packages that have been stolen from porches are not covered by insurance, or us.
There are no guaranteed arrival times due to the ongoing pandemic. If you feel your package is lost, please contact us.
WE ARE A CATALOG SITE: Items at westwindgifts.ca are usually a special order item. Weekly cutoff is Monday night (Midnight EST).
All orders ship from Alberta, Canada. It can take 1-2 weeks for us to get your items before we ship, depending on when you place your order. Weekly cut off is Sunday Evenings - We get orders in one week (the following Monday) - Sometimes they arrive a little bit early.
SPECIAL NOTE ON SNOWGLOBES:
While we still guarantee the safe arrival on snowglobes during the winter months - Our guarantee is limited. Snowglobes have the tendency to freeze in transport, which can lead to defects. During the winter months, your guarentee is limited to the purchase amount only and DOES NOT include shipping. Refunds are less the original shipping amount, and returns are subject to a new shipping charge. We inspect all snowglobes before sending them out.
RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS
As items are special ordered for you, returns may be subject to a restocking fee to cover costs of sending items back to the vendor. All items must be sent back prepaid. Generally, shipping is not refunded - and shipping is calculated on the full rate, not the Half Price Shipping or Free Shipping. Insurance and tracking is not required but is your responsibility. Please contact us first before sending any items back, and we'll work with you for the best possible outcome. Please let us know the reason for the return. Please do not return damaged items without contacting us first.
